Machine Operator

We are looking for new staff to join our warehouse production team. We would like only individuals to apply who have an aptitude for solving mechanical problems, who will have a longer term ambition of being in charge of running our production machines, who thrive by motivating their staff to achieve our daily production targets.

Experience of working in a manufacturing environment is desirable. This role will involve much of the working day spent standing whilst carrying out manual tasks such as loading machines with magazines, leaflets and paper and packing the end product into/onto pallets/cages.

General Duties

The Sitma No 1 Operator is responsible for the running of the machine. To set up new jobs based on information from the works order and hit quantity targets as per Production Schedule. To manage the team on their machine to ensure efficient production.

Production

To ensure that each job is set up correctly and efficiently. To produce quality check sheets at the start of each new job or shift change ready for sign off by the Production Shift Supervisor. To ensure production speeds are at a level to ensure targets are met. To communicate with the Production Shift Supervisor to ensure the next job is prepared prior to completion of current job.

Training

To train your team to continually increase each individual’s skills level. To work with the Production Shift Supervisor in identifying each team members training requirements. To encourage teamwork and good communication throughout your shift.

Maintenance

To ensure your machine is maintained in good operative order and advise the Operations Manager if a fault occurs. To carry out repairs alongside the Maintenance Engineer when necessary.

Machine Assistant

Job Summary

The Machine Assistant is required to assist the Machine Operator in the running of an automated poly-wrapping machine.

Responsibilities and Duties

We are looking for new team members to join our successful Mailing Machine teams.

The hours of work are based on shifts which operate between 06:00am – 2.00pm Monday to Friday (Early Shift) 2.00pm – 12 midnight, Monday to Thursday (Late Shift). Full time machine assistants are required – 40 hours (10 hours shifts). The Machine Assistant will learn to work at the various stations of the mailing machine. Full training will be provided and there is a range of other Company benefits.
